Zane King's 12 String Copedant

Zane King's 10 String Copedant

Zane Beck's Universal Tuning

What made Zane Beck's sound so unique?  His copedant.  Yes this is a Universal Tuning, probably the most compact universal tuning with the least amount of floors and knees.  With just 4 Floors and 5 Knees you will find you get not only standard E9 but B6 and E7.  So if it is so good how come a lot of players don't change?  Very simple! "Set in their ways" is the best explanation I could give you.  There is very little tablature out there to persuade guys and girls to look at going to this tuning.  To combat we will have free tablature posted here in the future for you who are interested in trying this copedant out.  The biggest issue I hear from players is they don't like the grip to produce the E Major chord which is strings 1, 3, and 5.  Yes it is a little different but you still get all the goodies and yes it is all there, just in a different place.  Want to try something a little different, just give it a try.  As stated earlier, I will be presenting tablature in the future to help those of you who are looking for a different copedant that might work the way you think.    DB

Zane Beck's Last Copedant prior to his illness

According to Don Fritche, prior to Zane's death he was working on making more changes to the copedant.

"Cowboy" Eddie Long's New Copedant

COM = String Compensators.........

What is the secret to Eddie's Playing?  According to "Cowboy" it is the 1st pedal that makes his sounds unique.  Study the copedant, and you will see that there are not many differences other than the placement of the A# in the first pedal.
